RF Front-End of Digital Communication System (Software-Defined Radio)

The RF Front-End is a bridge between an analog RF signal and a FPGA for any wireless communication devices and measurement tools. The module performs analog signal processing in both RX/TX directions. The receiver has a one channel and the transmitter can generate I/Q channels.

The RX channel performs hardware signal processing: the analog signal is filtered, amplified, being sampled and processed by an analog-to-digital converter(ADC). The prepared digital signals forwarded to the FPGA for digital signal processing (DSP). In the TX channels: the digital signals from the FPGA are converted to analog signal by digital-to-analog converter(DAC), filtered and amplified. The clocking signal is genarated by a low-jitter oscillator and synchronized with the FPGA clock.

The module designed to work with DE1-SoC Board (SoC FPGA+ARM Altera Cyclon V), but it can be connected to any board with FPGA throw general connectors.

MERLIN (Methane Remote Sensing Lidar Mission)

FRU  (Frequency Reference Unit) is a module of a satellite with a scientific objective to measure the global distribution of the gas methane. The unit provides an optical/electrical frequency stabilization of the reference laser diode with respect to the methane gas absorption feature.

The unit consists of methane gas cell, laser diodes, photo receivers and high precision RADHard electronics:

ICARUS (International Cooperation for Animal Research Using Space) is a global space monitoring system

ICARUS is a global collaboration of animal scientists to establish a novel satellite based infrastructure for earth observation of small objects such as migratory birds, bats or sea turtles. It consists of space and ground-deployed elements. The space element (International Space Station) is used as relay for the radio frequency communication link between animal tags and the Operations Center.

Industrial PID controller for HVAC Systems
